Make Mine Pink Tea Party

Welcome, Gentle Friend! I am so glad you could come~~it's been so long since we've been able to spend time together. Come, sit down at the tea table. I've set out my favorite teapot and teacups--the Bavarian Rose set that reminds me of you! I've got the water boiling on the stove and just have to add the tea to the pot and let it steep. Tell me about your week while we wait.

Would you prefer English Afternoon or Earl Gray? I have both. Oh, good! I love English Afternoon, too. I just adore Royal Albert--and look at the lovely tin it comes in!

Milk and sugar? Or do you prefer lemon and honey?

I just love this tea set. The blue band with the pink roses looks so sweet. It reminds me of our trip to McKinney. I remember that vintage Bavarian tea cup you looked at and wanted so badly. This set is new, but has that same look. (And I can order more if I break a cup.)

Have a strawberry tart or a cinnamon scone. They're small--have one of each. We'll diet tomorrow! I love this scone recipe. It's so tender and has just the right amount of sugar and cinnamon~~perfect with our tea. Not overpowering at all. Oh, the tart has a cream cheese crust. Very light! The recipes? Oh, I'll write them out for you tomorrow.

I missed you so much. My life has been so hectic lately. I spent almost the whole month of August getting my son ready to move to college. Then, we had to get ready for the big high school debut for my daughter. Shopping, orientation, working out schedule changes, more shopping. You remember those days, don't you? And, then, my sweet husband decided I needed a break so he planned this trip. It was lovely to get away--no phones or computers. It was so refreshing to just talk and spend time together in the outdoors. But I am so glad to be back in my own bed.

What do you have planned next week? Could we fit in a day of antiquing? McKinney? A trip to the tea room would be nice afterwards. Good, let's set the date!

Another cup of tea? I have all the time in the world for you, my friend.

Karen,
Thanks for saving me a seat at your table. I'd love a cup of tea with lemon and honey, please. Just the thing to help me relax after my first day at a new job. I'm trying to watch what I eat, but I'll take a strawberry tart. That;s healthy right? :)
Well I've gotta stop by some other "parties." Maybe I'll see you there. If not, I'll stop by tomorrow!
