Show and Tell Monday at Make Mine Pink

Good Monday morning to all! Today is Show and Tell Monday at Make Mine Pink and I just had to show you what I have been working on for the last few days.

A customer in Australia has been ordering skirts from my shop to wear in her tearoom/cafe. She wrote to say how much she loved them and ask when would I be making more. I had neglected that area of my shop and was down to just 2 skirts. So, I whipped up 2 more patchwork styles for her. Well, "whipped up" is not exactly right. They are pretty labor intensive. Each skirt is made from 54 pieces that I cut from 4 yards of coordinating cotton fabrics, stitch together into rows, gather and assemble into the skirt. Then, I wet, twist and dry for several hours in the dryer to get that beautiful broomstick effect. Here's the result:

I am shipping them to Australia today. I wish I could hand deliver them...

Oh My Karen, I LOVE those skirts! That is just my style! You know how I love mixing fabrics and I do not wear skirts much, but when I do this is exactly what I like to wear! So pretty and girly and comfy! Thanks for sharing. I think you are going to be very busy with those!!

Karen, the skirts are really beautiful. Is that the same pattern skirt you were wearing in your Sunday picture by the motorcycle? I admired that too, although we were supposed to be admiring the motorcycle. I would love to be your messenger to deliver them!!

Hi Karen, I'm am so excited that your market has reached as far away as Australia. You know how much those Aussies love our products. It's a great marketplace for you to be tapping into.

I am away antiquing and have purchased so many pretties for my Themed wreaths I have to ship it all home in two boxes. I can't wait to start creating my new themed wreath ideas.

I will chat more when I get back home. I'm on my way back today.
