May 18 - May 24~~The Pouring Teapot This week is all about sharing about teapots. Do you have one? two? or three? maybe more? Is it for display only or do you use it for tea? What is the tea server you use most? Your favorite teapot (or is it something like a quart jar?). Tell your teapot story, give it's history, and tell what it means to you. You can share more than once if you'd like. Antique, new, Asian, English, or something in between --- we'd love to know!
This is just one of oodles of teapots I own, but my Royal Albert Old Country Roses teapot is my favorite. I had seen the pattern for most of my life and always admired the roses and the graceful shape. I bought my set with money earned from my business a few years ago. It was a luxury that I had never indulged, but often dreamed about. I added a piece at a time. My treasured tea set sits atop a tea cart in my dining room at ready for company--whether invited or impromptu. 
An aside--The last piece I purchased was the tall heart-shaped vase. My husband knows I love roses, and now, when he buys them on special occasions, he brings home a varied bouquet to match my vase!

Your tea set is absolutely beautiful. I love the flowers. My dream is to someday own one myself. I like how you keep it on display on a tea cart. It's just lovely.

ReplyDeleteI feel right at home with your post, as Old Country Roses is my pattern as well. It was started by my grandfather --- who passed his pieces along to my mother. Now they are mine and I've ended up with TWO teapots and one coffee pot in this pattern, but I don't mind --- it just gives me more choices for tea flavors. LOL! I've enjoyed all your posts and thank you for participating in our blog-a-thon. We've been having some trouble with Mr Linky this week. Some people can't read the links in the far right-hand column. Would you mind re-linking to the smaller (just posted) Mr. Linky that I added under the old one? Once you've done that I will delete your link from the one that can't be read. Old Country Roses is one of my favorites, too! It's just so vibrant.

Old Country Roses was my grandmother's pattern...and when she passed away, each granddaughter got a piece or two of her set. So I treasure my Old Country Rose cup & saucer...and maybe I'll add more one day! Yours looks lovely on your tea wagon.
